.but remember its US who have to have control over them finally or else they will make our life more hectic..not a warning though...but these were exactly my doc's words when I had the same complain with my Saket at 8-9 months...my advice is(doc's too)...Stay stubborn and dont loose your control and have him latch to you..that way u can never wean him frm the breast...so have control and just whenver he wants milk give him the bottle...if he doesn't drink thats fine..u know kids of 10 months age need atleast 4-5 days to get used to bottle and stop feeding frm breast...I know it is too hard to see them crying but if you really want him to let go of your breast just u have to be in control..if he doen't drink milk, have him fed with other food like cereal, water and fruits etc...its fine...by the end of 4th day they will be used to bottle..try it out and do consult your doc for any further suggestions...All the best at your trials...

I am not right person to answer your query...but i can advise you. First of all, kids who are on breastfeed till 10 months, and not introduced to bottle/formula do not like the taste of formula.... instead try Nestle Quick start or else wait for another two months, and then start giving him whole milk. { If you cant wait two more months, you can mix equal quantities of water and whole milk, though this is against doctor's advise} In the mean time, cut down on the number of feeds gradually, like to two during the day and one in the night.
Also, if he goes to sleep only upon latching, try to put him to sleep by rocking, or in a swing. He need not take up bottle, once he is one year old, you can introduce him to cup straight away...
My son Tejas is also 11 months old, and he was exclusively breastfed till 6 months and then started giving him solids from then on... I am planning to continue feeding till he is one year, and then introduce him to whole milk either through a cup/sipper/bottle. I am now sending him to Indian day care for five hours during the day, so that he would slowly forget being fed.... I started to give him Yogurt(Yo baby and home made) to ensure his calcium intake.
All the best and do not worry!!!

I have no clue if weaning a month old and 10 month old is the same...but let me tell u my experience...Within a month my milk supply hit the rocks and I had to make him take the bottle. Ofcourse he used to yell and just refuse the bottle...Like you..out of sheer frustration and not having enough the heart to see him cry...I used to le him latch on. So i got some tips from my doc...he wanted my mom or my husband to try giving the bottle coz babies associate mommies with milk He wanted me out of the roomOnce they get used to a routine its very tough for them to accept foreign objects. He also said the baby will never let himself go hungry....eventually he will have to take the bottle to quench his hunger so u need to be strong willed and kep trying...
Lastly...keep experimenting with different bottles and nipples. Initially I tried Dr.Browns...Maadhav rejected it outright and wud not take it inspite of trying for 2 days. Then I switched to Playtex Natural latch. Itz wide mouthed, the nipple is made of silicone so it doesnt give that plastic smell or taste...Ofocurse Maadhav rejected this too in the beginning but after coupla trys...he took to it..
I've heard that some babies once they get used to mommies milk reject formula....Ur son might refuse the formula simply coz itz from the source hez used too. So try drizzling the formula down ur breast when hez latched on and see if hez drinking the formula..!!! WEird na!! i dunno how we can do it but thatz what my doc adviced me to do it...Thankfully...Maadhav took to bottle b4 this step....
