I am not too much into mythology but I prefer panchatantra, Chandamana subscription, Akbar Birbal, Tenali Rama, Buddha at Bedtime, Amar Chitra Kadha.
The kid loves Dr. Suess Books, I personally feel they are too intense in spite of the silly language, so I have a big collection of that which I bought here.
